After having been restricted to freshwater fishes for more than 20 years, with the beginning of 2026 this section for the marine ichthyofauna of the territorial waters in the Southwest Atlantic Ocean has been added to PecesCriollos. The main purpose is to inform about changes against the most recent lists of marine fishes from Argentina and Uruguay (Mabragaña & Cousseau 2021, Nion et al. 2016). Nevertheless, this information is not complete but almost restricted to additions, withdrawals, and changes published after 2025. Older records on changes may be found in the respective sections of ‘Lists & Updates’.
