abstract (from publication):
The Shimofuri goby (Tridentiger bifasciatus) is native to the Pacific Northwest coast of Asia. This fish was first recorded as an exotic species in 1985 in California, USA, and is now considered as established and widespread in several North American reservoirs. In 2023 it was reported for the first time in Europe and now we confirm it for South America. The specimens reported here were collected in the intertidal zone of Pehuen-co locality, at the southeast of the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Exotic species are one of the main factors contributing to the decline of native species, and this is why it is important to report new records and to carry out further studies on the status of this species.
