Based on specimens deposited in the Fish Collection of Facultad de Ciencias (UDELAR), in this note we confirm the presence of Bunocephalus erondinae (Siluriformes: Aspredinidae) in Uruguay. We also present evidence that questions come of the diagnostic characters that differentiates it from B. doriae.
